Season of longing

No flowers to shower their petals on you
No grasses to lie down and think about you…
The season is crying for the lack of love
The tears fall on the roses like dew.

Chilly cold winds hurting my throat
Lips go pale and dry…
The pain is just not hurting me-
It’s hurting my soul and my heart cries.

It’s painful to hear the blackbird’s cry
Yet I love the way it beckons the sun.
So do I sing sitting before the fire
Recalling those loving memories and fun.

This season brings hours of separation
I thought I’d never live!
Still alive I am you see!
It’s the magic of the love you give.

You are not aware of how I feel,
Waiting for the sunshine in my heart.
Even if the sunsets deceive me
I’d love you, though it hurts.

The air is telling me to retreat in myself,
Coz there’s no love in it.
I say, my heart is too full of love
It’s not the air that I need.

The warmth of my heart
Slowly melts the snow…
And there the blackbird sings!
The summer is here,
Knocking my door
I can feel the blossoms it brings!
